We are Bandish,

Band-ish.

See, we didn’t want you to think that we are a real band. There are a million reasons for that. For one, we are so many that we tend to break into colorful bollywood numbers on stage (there is enough representation of both sexes in the band for that!) - the un-paired among us rock at being 'trees'. For another, we were so taken by the sweeping emotions engendered by the diversity workshops at Wharton that we wanted to label ourselves with a universally understood word. In the remote case that you haven't guessed it yet, 'Bandish' means "incarceration" in Esperanto (or was it Hindi?). Pure Genius.

We started off with two guitarists playing on acoustics at a couple of parties. Soon we were a modest group of five in fall '07. Two more hopped on to the bandwagon in Spring '08, and the number reached 7 in Fall '08. The arithmetic progression finally broke down in Fall '08, when we became 10-strong! There is a darn good reason for that. Hell, we make good music!
